Annual Meeting 2023

Firstly, the Chairman writes as follows:

"This year our Annual Meeting returns to the north-west of England. Kendal is a beautiful old market town and offers members not only a place of intriguing history but also easy access to the Fells and Lakes. Our thanks to Monica Tweddell for organising the event and I hope as many of you as possible will attend."

Our Treasurer, Ann Davidson, has emailed all members who have supplied us with their email address. The information is extracted below.

"As our normal June mailing has been delayed, I am contacting you by email with details of our upcoming Annual General Meeting on 9 September. This is not the formal notice of the meeting with a list of resolutions and proxy voting information:  this will still be sent out by mail.  This is simply a note to remind you of the date and location (which was also included with the December 2022 Collector), and to provide you with a booking form for the activities surrounding the meeting."

The details of the weekend

The formal business of the AGM will take place at 12 noon on Saturday 9 September. The agenda, the Report and Accounts and a proxy form so that you can vote even if you cannot attend, will be sent separately by mail. Before and after the AGM itself, many Penguin books will be displayed (and sold and bought) by members. Do bring your interesting finds, your spare copies and of course your money!

Lunch will be available on the Saturday, and arrangements have been made for dinners on the preceding Friday evening and the Saturday (outline plans are included with the Programme and Booking Form details linked below).

There is of course no need to book for the AGM itself though an indication of your intention to attend would be useful for us to gauge numbers. But you must book for the Friday dinner, a table for the display and sale of books (space will be tight), and lunch and dinner on Saturday; and you will have to pay in advance for the meals. Either complete the Booking Form and send it to Ann Davidson, Ballavilley, Arragon Lane, Santon, Isle of Man IM4 1HH (postage is as for the UK) (contact phone number 07624 451555), or provide the relevant information in an email to: [email protected] (NB if you are responding by email and cannot copy and scan the booking form please just give the relevant details in your mail.)

The Programme and booking details are given here
