A facsimile edition of Puffin Picture Book 114 Noah's Ark published by Joe Pearson at Design for Today, with The Story of Noah’s Ark, a 32-page booklet published jointly by the PCS and Design For Today.

Noah’s Ark is a press-out and assemble book, with a series of six plates of die-cut linocut animals, the Ark, and Mr & Mrs Noah. It also contains a set of assembly instructions and Noah’s Alphabet of the Ark. It was devised by John Miles and first published in the Puffin Picture Book series in 1958.

John Miles was an honorary member of the Penguin Collectors Society who sadly died in December 2023. However, he had written an account of the book’s creation, and Sophie Jones, the recipient of the 2022 PCS Bursary, has added an essay on the Puffin Cut-Outs, including sections on French Children’s Picture Books; The English Toy Theatre; the effects of Purchase Tax on sales and the difficulties of display; and a Bibliography of the Puffin Cut-Outs.

Printed to accompany the reissue of Noah's Ark there is also a pamphlet paying tribute to John Miles with essays by Joe Pearson and James Alexander, and photographs courtesy of Sophie Miles and Caroline Banks.

Published by Design for Today in co-operation with The Penguin Collectors Society; further information and copies of the facsimile and of the tribute to John Miles can be had through Design for Today
