An Edward Bawden design as picture of the month for June! May was generally good, weatherwise, throughout the UK and as this coincided with National Walking Month it gave us all an excuse to dust off our Guides even if we didn”t manage to get much further than the local hostelry...

The weather is certainly setting March up to come in like a lion and my choice of title, which amusingly came up in Eggheads recently, has to be by Apsley Cherry-Garrard!

We are moving through winter, the days are (slowly) lengthening and the snowdrops are popping out so it is time to have a recap of what's on and what to watch out for.

Two exhibitions that are surely on Members wish lists in one place! Between 6 January and 29 April 2018 the Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft is home to an exhibition featuring Elizabeth Friedlander and her relationship with Penguin. Alongside this is a display entitled 20 Years of Penguin Essentials which looks at the series that began in 1998.
