PCS AGM Reading 12 - 14 October 2018

A reminder of the details for the Annual Meeting - for a full description see also the pink sheet that was circulated with Collector 90.

Following the usual pattern, many members (partners/guests are also welcome) will stay at the same hotel, eat together in a pub on Friday night, attend the AGM and organised programme during the day on Saturday and take part in an informal dinner that evening. Penguinary discussions have been known to continue at breakfast on Sunday morning!

Saturday's organisation includes the AGM, a display of Penguin books by members (many of which will be for sale), and a display and presentation of some of the University's Special Collections, much of it with Penguin associations. If you have books that you would like to sell/swap you are encouraged to bring them along - you are unlikely to find a more willing audience of Penguinophiles in one place at one time!

Since sending Collector 90, we've been able to add to the programme a discussion with one of those directly involved in Penguin Education in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the subject of the other book that members have just received, “This Once Was Us”. It should be a lively off-the record session, not to be missed.

Whilst it would be helpful if attendees could let us know that they are coming, it is not mandatory unless, of course, you would like any of the optional extras (lunch/sales table). Under these circumstances, please contact either James Mackay or myself (private message through any of our social media or email me at [email protected]).

Looking forward to seeing you there!
