Study Day in conjunction with the V&A display “70 Years of Penguin
Design”

2005 was Penguin's Seventieth Birthday (Penguin No. 1 was published in July 1935) which the Society recently celebrated with "Penguin by Designers — a Study Day" at the V&A.
On Saturday 18 June, the Society hosted a unique event, where some of the best names from the past 50 years of Penguin design — and graphic design in general, come to that — were invited to participate in a study day at the V&A, in conjunction with the museum's own celebration of Penguin Books' 70th anniversary.

The event was recorded, and it is our intention to produce a book celebrating that day, based on the transcripts of their talks, and illustrations of text and cover design.
