February Wrap Up and Whats On

Whilst there is only a little to add from last month's recommendations, here is a reminder of some of them, an update, and a few new suggestions.

Designs on Britain and the Ditchling Exhibitions are still in full flow. I wonder if anyone has secured tickets to the Conversation with Coralie Bickford-Smith (now sold out)? (If you attend and feel able, do please send a report to our Editor.)

The Mainstone Press title ‘Are you Sitting Comfortably? The Book Jackets of Edward Bawden’ has a revised publishing date of April 2018 but the exciting news is there is a great deal more information about the title. Book Jackets of Edward Bawden

The V&A must surely have the prize for the most fun exhibition website this month. Describing the close relationship between E H Shepard and A A Milne, Winnie the Pooh; Exploring a Classic is on until 8 April. I am reminded that Ernest Shepard's biography, ‘Drawn From Memory’ was reprinted by Penguin in 1975 and is illustrated by him throughout.

The Compton Verney exhibition that I mentioned last month starts on St Patrick's Day (17 March – 10 Jun). Ravilious & Co

At the Jerwood Gallery there is an exhibition that will be a must for Quentin Blake followers, Moonlight Travellers. It started at the end of January and runs until 15 April.

Finally, an interesting website for Puffin lovers and teachers Puffin Virtually Live and a reminder of an old friend The Book Guide.
